Meet Rebecca from Flour and Filigree

Hi! I’m Rebecca!

Flour and Filigree is a place to find handmade vintage life inspiration, old-fashioned recipes, fun and useful crafts, all with a nostalgic feel.

I took culinary arts in college but most of my kitchen experience, and knowledge, comes from spending time in the kitchen with my grandmother! You can learn more about her here!

Growing up I lived with my grandparents and have been cooking cozy, simple. recipes for as long as I can remember.

My grandmother was the keeper of all of her family’s heirlooms and vintage recipes which have now been passed down to me!

I’ve lived in Canada my whole life and have been married to my husband for 12 years. I love the snow, say sorry all the time, slept with a pack of wolves outside, and always have maple syrup on hand. (The stereotypes might be true!)

Now I am the culinary creator and domestic darling to my family of six.

If you’re a fan of deliciously simple vintage recipes and old-fashioned skills then follow along with me!

Where this all began

Most of the recipes that you find here are from my grandmother’s recipe box. They are all either recipes she made often, or recipes from her friends and family. If you made something she loved, she always asked for the recipe afterwards!

Since I was a small child, I spent a lot with her. She taught me how to sew, how to live a healthy balanced life, how to dance, and the importance of exercising your body as well as your mind.

So, now I get to share all of that with you! A life-times worth of knowledge, experience, and love!
