How to make a freezer lasagna
- Preheat a large pot or Dutch oven to medium heat.
- Add 1 pound of ground beef and 1 pound of ground sausage. Break up and crumble the meat.
- Cook until there is no pink left.
- Add in 2 cloves of minced garlic and fry along with the ground meat.
- Stir in 1 large can of crushed tomatoes, 1 can of tomato sauce, and 1 can of tomato paste.
- Reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook stirring occasionally for 15 minutes.

7. Meanwhile in a large bowl, mix together two 475 g containers of ricotta cheese with 1 egg and 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg.
Assembly
- In a large rectangular, freezer-safe, and oven safe pan, spread a thin layer of the sauce. This will prevent the pasta from sticking to the bottom of the dish.
- On top place a layer of oven-ready lasagna noodles. Make sure to leave a little space between each as they will expand as they cook in the oven.
- Layer evenly on top of the pasta 1/2 of the meat sauce.
- Place another layer of pasta.

5. Evenly layer on top the ricotta cheese mixture.
6. Place another layer of pasta.
7. Layer on top the rest of the meat sauce.
8. If freezing omit the top mozzarella cheese layer.
