I made this waffle breakfast bar for a birthday sleepover we hosted for my son and his friends. It was a huge hit! If you’re making this for kids, mini versions are a must. The more little decorations the better so they can have fun creating their own breakfast masterpiece!

Tips and Tricks for the perfect waffle breakfast bar

Size

Choose the size of the bar according to how many people you need to serve. Make the bar abundant! Ensure there is enough for everyone to have seconds or even thirds. Include more than enough of all the toppings so your guests know they can load up on anything they want.

Make ahead

Do as much of the work you can ahead of time. The night before, wash all of the berries and fruit. Prep all of the sauces, accompaniments, and spreads. Place them into small pitchers or bowls, ready to arrange on the board the next day.

If you’re making homemade, you can even make waffles the day before and reheat them in the oven just before serving.

Options

Variety makes this waffle breakfast bar fun and appealing. Choose different types of waffles like chocolate chip, blueberry, sourdough, pumpkin, and Belgian.

Serve with a variety of accompaniments from sweet to savoury so everyone will find something they love. Arrange a variety of sizes from large to mini waffles.

Extras

Include some perfect waffle pairings like bacon, sausage, eggs, or baked beans for anyone who wants to make a full and hearty meal.
